French citizen - Born May 28th 1969 at CAEN (Calvados) - Originily from Sarthe (Pays de la Loire)
A camera around his neck since his ten-years-old birthday: "Thank you Dad !"
After two masters (philosophy and french litterature), FORTUNA worked eight years in the french cinema industry as a free-lance first
director assistant. Working both in long feature films and advertising films, as a location manager, he learned a lot about spot photography.
As assistant director, he learned about directing, lighting, decoration, and about people, by travelling around the world. The meeting in 1990
with Patrick Demarchelier, the famous french top photographer living in New-York, was decisive for him. FORTUNA assisted him on many L' OREAL
adverts, with several international top models. "Patrick teatched me the most important thing in photography : He teatched me the right
way to speak to people. You make pictures with words, what you tell to your models brings or not the right emotion on their faces,
at the right moment. A good photographer needs to know how to communicate with any kind of people, he needs to understand,
and love them. He doesn' t ask models to smile, he makes them smile. Photography is only a question of generosity".
Especially in Paris, advertising and fashion business can be very far from real life... and true feelings. Live put him through the test of a terrible
accident. Coma, trauma, years and years of re-education: he came back stronger and better, because more generous with people.
Books, movies, graphic design, decoration, electronic music (...): FORTUNA likes to feed into and get inspiration from every field of Arts.
After directing advertising movies himself, he focuses on photography since 1998. Beauty and fashion, portraits: human beings, but not only
(He also enjoyed to shoot amazing resorts in Cambodia and night lifestyles in Ho Chi Minh City).
FORTUNA also likes to travel. He discovered Thailand in 1992 and fell in love with the culture and the people. He spent forteen months in Bangkok
and three years in Vietnam since 2007, where he get promising experiences with magazines and advertising.
In Thailand, he worked for advertising and Harper' s Bazaar, in Vietnam he worked for fashion, advertising, and for l' Oréal Professionnal.
He is now coming back to Europe, ready to express his passion, prove his talent, and impress with his maturity.
